Frock ‘n Troll Folk Rock, Traditional Roll Frock ‘n Troll presents an eclectic mix of original songs and tunes, traditional Celtic and Australian music, bluegrass, folk and an assortment of new and classic pop and rock.
They have been playing regularly in the South-east region of N.S.W. and East Gippsland area of Victoria for the past few years where they have received excellent reviews for their live performance from every venue, particularly for their original interpretation of traditional songs and tunes.
Frock ‘n Troll will entertain any crowd with material ranging from festival, pub and club, concert style and bush dancing.
Sherri Olding- Vocals, Guitar, woodwind and Percussion.
Sherri has been playing music professionally for fifteen years. Formerly based in the Southern Highlands of N.S.W. Sherri has worked with many bands including Serendipity and Parmy’s Woolshed Band, and played alongside the likes of Steve Prestwich(Cold Chisel). She has played at numerous folk festivals including the National Festival in Canberra, Mittagong Playhouse, Bowral’s famous “le Soir Mystique” evening shows and a variety of pubs, clubs and resorts in the Southern Highlands. Sherri has toured regional parts of N.S.W. with the Tony Martin Band and has appeared on many commercially available recordings both as a session musician and a solo artist. Sherri has an associate diploma in music and is a qualified music teacher. She has studied at the N.S.W. Conservatorium of Music and is currently working as a primary school music teacher in the Monaro Region.
Angus Olding- Fiddle, Vocals and percussion.
The duo of Gus and Sherri Olding are the original Frock ‘n Troll. They have played together over the past twenty five years in several bands and as a duo.
Gus is well known for his unique style of fiddle playing and has an excellent reputation in the folk and country rock fields with a career spanning more than thirty years on stage.
Gus has played with numerous bands including Parmys Woolshed Band, The Polka Pigs, Flute And Veg and The Loaded Dog with whom Gus won four out of five categories at the Glenn Innes Bush Music Festival. Gus has Toured the state extensively with the Tony Martin Band, and has supported well known acts such as James Blundell, Geraldine Doyle and Foster and Allen. Gus has played on commercially available recordings too numerous to mention, both as a session player and a feature artist. He has appeared at many festivals including Tamworth Country Music Festival, and The National Festival. He is currently residing in the Monaro Region and playing regularly with Frock ‘n Troll
